My goal is to treat people the way we are instructed to in the Word of God, with love. I have been practicing in the healthcare field for 15 years and have a variety of experience caring for patients of all ages with various states of health from routine primary and preventative care to management of acute and surgical conditions. I am passionate about treating the whole person, mind, body, and soul and ensuring each person has an individualized plan of care in which they are actively involved in the decision-making process. I advocate for my patients to receive the highest quality care and it is important to me that everyone knows they are loved. After a reduction in access to healthcare within our community, I was drawn to opening a local clinic to provide Family Medicine in Brazil, IN. I also strive to ensure everyone in our community who needs healthcare can receive it. Soul Light Ministries, a non-profit, was founded to bridge the gap of disparagement.

Maranda McKinney
DNP, FNP-BC

After a reduction in access to healthcare within our community, I was drawn to opening a local
clinic to provide compassionate healthcare to families and people of all ages in Brazil, IN. I
strive to ensure everyone in our community who needs healthcare can receive it. In fact,
working hard to ensure people in our community have all their needs met is extremely important
to my family and I. In response to this and the desire to “share the light of Jesus” with everyone
we encounter, we have worked to create a non-profit foundation called Soul Light Ministries.

Deanna Jones
MSN, FNP-BC
As a family nurse practitioner, I am dedicated to high-quality patient care and advocacy.
Continual education is a priority for me, and I have been committed to pursuing further
education in healthcare to optimize patient care, but to me, caring for patients involves more
than just disease diagnosis and treatment; it includes the whole person: mind, body, and soul. I
work with patients to promote wellness in all these areas.
As a graduate from Indiana State University, I became a nurse practitioner in 2024 and have
worked in the nursing field now for over 20 years. Throughout my nursing career and training, I
have gained invaluable experience in many different areas but developed a strong passion for
dermatology. I am excited about bringing this area of specialty to Bright Soul Wellness Center
and offering these services to our patients. I enjoy everything from removing skin lesions, to
suturing and treating acne. I also have a certification for chemical face peels, Botox, and filler.
I am a strong advocate for community service and have dedicated my life to serving others in
many ways. I’m excited about working with our community to meet healthcare needs and
improve the wellness of our families!
Debra (Suzie) Hayes
MSN, FNP-C
Suzie is a lifelong member of Clay County and is honored to serve the place she calls home. Rooted in Christian values and a heart for service, she is committed to providing compassionate, faith-guided and patient-focused care. Suzie has over 15 years of nursing experience, earning her advanced practive degree from Indiana State University.
In her spare time, she is active in her local church, and enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
